Each different model air conditioning unit has its benefits and extras for consumers to decide from when purchasing just like all other appliances. Air conditioners can be difficult to choose from because each one offers different features and extras for your home but it shouldn’t be as difficult a process as most people think. There are a handful of things one should look for when purchasing a new air conditioner when it comes to the unit’s features.
Air Conditioning Features
-An energy saving switch: to save a lot of energy make sure you turn the fans off at the same time.
-Sleep mode: just like the sleep mode on the television, this feature allows you to raise the temperature during the middle of the night without having to wake up frozen.
-Remote temperature control: as with all other major electronics today, even air conditioning units are offering remotes now. Don’t feel like getting out of bad after getting comfy? Reach for the remote and reset the temperature on your unit.

If the light turns to yellow or red then it is time to check that air filter and buy a new one. Aside from the features mentioned above, there are other bells and whistles that air conditioners have that can sway a consumer’s choice about purchasing that unit or not. Some new air conditioning units, especially window units, come equipped with the ability to be used as a heater in the winter months. This is especially effective for owners of homes along the shore as an air conditioner is not needed in September, October, November and the early months of spring. Just move the dial from cool to warm, like in your car, and it will heat the room you are in.
Other bells and whistles available today with air conditioning units are pressure switches, programmable thermostats, time delays, high efficiency filters, germicidal lamps and blower off delays. All of these features can come in handy when trying to lower your electric bill and improve the use and efficiency of your air conditioning unit.
